Pour La Victorie Booties

Two years ago, one of my BFF’s, Lisa, came to visit from Toronto.

Now when Lisa, who proclaims “I’m easy,” visits NYC, she wants to do the following:

1. dance on couches at the hottest clubs.

2. binge at the The Waverly, Babbo, etc., where it’s not so “easy” to get a reservation.

And of course…

3. Shop, shop and shop some more.

She can also be a tad Single White Female. Not in an “I am gonna throw your puppy off the balcony, have sex with your boyfriend while disguised as you, flat out kill you” kind of way, but more like, whatever I buy she MUST buy immediately.

So two years ago when she noticed my adorable Pour La Victorie black and white stripe, bow-adorned flats she had to have them. Now mind you, I could not remember what boutique in SoHo I had bought them in. But no matter, one week later, I was in a boutique on Thompson street picking up the pre-paid, matching shoes Lisa had found with her FBI-worthy sleuthing.

Cue to Lisa’s visit last month when I am wearing the above (also Pour La Victorie) suede booties. These sporty ankle boots are PERFECT. An unexpected color, they are still neutral enough to wear with anything. They go with my Kelly Bundy-esque skirt, my skinny jeans, and even my Levi cutoffs if I am feeling sassy. They are also deceptively high but comfortable and I can walk the Manhattan streets in them all day.

It goes without saying that Lisa is now walking the Toronto streets in them as well.

But, to be honest, I feel kinda flattered.
