We’d like to welcome you back from the weekend with our wham-bam-thank-you-PLEAT, Holiday Dressing Mini-Guide. We’re sure you already have enough items on the old “To Do” list, so we’ve spared you the added grief of figuring out what to wear. Now you only have to worry about the inevitable troika that is Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Thanksgiving: Err on the side of demure, but not dorky, when dealing with the family, especially if it’s someone else’s.

Then everyone will remember you for your effervescent charm and killer turkey carving skills, and not your bra color.

Mother-of-the-Boyfriends can be so judgmental about a little scarlet lace!

Have fun with funky colored tartans and a retro faux-fur collar, like the ones above, and keep dowdy at bay with pretty, platform shoes with a peep-toe.

Christmas: When it’s time to be a team player and head to the holiday office party, once again, leave the boobs at home. Your boss is going to be there. If she’s on her 8th spiked eggnog and her boobs are in attendance, or he’s had scotch-number-who-knows and is out looking for a likely company inkwell, steer clear of that common fiasco.

It’s easy. Throw a sparkly boat-neck blouse over your workday trousers and finish it off with simple accessories like metallic leather sandals and a satin clutch, both evening worthy materials. You can always ditch the tote and office pumps under your desk.

As for NYE – don’t get lost in a sea of LBD’s! If there was ever a time to pull out all the stops, it’s the final night of the year! Have fun in this flapper meets discotheque gold lamé, but keep your feet firmly on the 2010 ground with a pair of studded, ankle strap heels.

Now hopefully you have more time and energy to hunt down the perfect golf club cozy for Dad, find a cheap plane ticket home, and maybe even get your nails done?
