E-Tailer We Love: BaubleBar
Brains, beauty, a knack for accessorizing . . . no we aren’t talking about your trusty Pleat editors, silly, we’re talking about the gals behind BaubleBar, a new site that’s popped up on our radar. Amy Jain and Danielle Yacobvsky, two friends who met in New York as bankers before attending Harvard Business School together, are the two shopping smarties behind this great jewelry site.
Amy and Daniella kindly shared their journey with us: “We came up with the basic idea behind BaubleBar while shopping for an upcoming wedding. We were buying shoes and talking about getting statement earrings for the event, when we suddenly realized that jewelry was the only category where we had no ‘go-to’ destination for browsing and buying. This was largely because we felt the price points were hard to justify. Soon after, we began meeting designers who wanted an easier way to reach consumers, so we decided to create a one-stop shop for women that brought them the designer products they wanted, but at a more accessible price point.”
We are quite pleased with the newly minted BaubleBar site. They offer a core “Classics” collection plus an ever-changing “Trend” collection. Come May, the site will launch their guest designer collections that showcase a new designer each month for a limited run of BaubleBar exclusives. And you know The Pleat loves a fair price – most of what’s available on the site ranges from $18-$80 and does not look junky!
If BaubleBar was Amy and Danielle’s graduate thesis, we would mostly certainly give them an A.
